When a sprayer thread does not match, the first thought is often to buy a whole new lance. Most of the time one small adapter is enough. A sprayer thread adapter joins the two common port sizes, M14x1.5 and M18x1.5, with either a male or a female end on each side. The plastic range covers four combinations: male 14 to female 18, male 14 to male 18, male 18 to female 14, and male 18 to male 18.
The idea is simple. If the gun port is an 18 and your old lance is a 14, the male 14 to female 18 adapter lets the old lance stay in service on the new gun, and nothing else has to be bought. The yellow plastic body keeps things light, and the knurled surface grips even with wet hands.
Choosing takes two steps. Look at each end of the adapter, then match the two port sizes on your machine. The adapter exists to join a 14 and an 18, so if both ends are already the same size you do not need one. Hand tighten it until snug and it is ready.
For spraying fields, greening work or sprayer repair, a few adapters in the kit pay for themselves. They are lighter than a spare lance and far more dependable than any stop-gap.
